Welcome! I am Calvin E. Poole, the sitting president for the Tristate Adaptive Sports Association. My journey began nine years ago. I was informed by my eye doctor that my sight was failing. As time went along, I can say it was true, my sight was at the point where I was declared legally blind. Needless to say, I became demotivated and lacked the will to live the life that I was accustomed to living. The glaucoma spread rapidly to both eyes causing me to develop a sedentary lifestyle. I spent the first couple of years doing almost nothing and my health started to fail. At that point, I decided to get back to living. I was always an avid sportsman, playing various games, so the search began. My vocational rehabilitation specialist introduced me to an adaptive sports group, The Tennessee Association of Blind Athletes. They became the catalyst for me.
